Illinois Herb Show: Harvest Fest 2007

The Illinois Herb Show, Harvest Fest 2007, is being held in collaboration with the Illinois Herb Association. Registration is $35, including lunch. Please download the registration form and mail it by September 7, 2007. Late and on-site registrants cannot be guaranteed lunch. Here is the schedule for this day full of planting and cooking demonstration classes using annual and perennial herbs:

9:30 am: Registration

10:00-11:00 am Workshop: Preparing the Fall Harvest with Herbs

Winona Saathoff will prepare a nutritional casserole using vegetables and herbs from Buxton’s Garden Farm. She will surprise you with other dishes and beverages to accompany your meal.

11:15-12:15 pm Workshop: Ponder Your Fall Herb Garden

Steve Buxton will give landscaping and gardening tips using herbs.

12:30 pm: Lunch

Herbal lunch served by The Old Schoolhouse, Sullivan.

1:30-2:30 pm Workshop: Grow Them for Fall Flavor

John Dean will help you make a fall window box with herbs. There is a $10 fee for the window box. You may choose to observe rather than make the window box.

2:30 pm: Tour of Buxton’s Garden Farm
